YUNGBLUD – aka Yorkshire born artist Dominic Harrison – has released his new EP, The Underrated Youth.
The six-track EP includes the previously released ‘Parents’ and ‘Hope For The Underrated Youth’, in addition to ‘Original Me’, his collaboration with Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. The EP is completed by three new tracks: ‘Braindead!’, ‘Casual Sabotage’ and ‘Waiting On The Weekend’.
Working with producer/songwriters Matt Schwartz, Mike Crossey , Zakk Cervini, and Chris Greatti, YUNGLBUD has created his grittiest body of work to date. Showcasing his beliefs alongside what’s important to other youths around him, this EP is a passionate offering which allows YUNGBLUD to be the voice of our generation.
Speaking about the EP, YUNGBLUD said it’s “about all the people I’ve met and the stories I’ve heard in the past couple of years. My fans are constantly telling me about the incredible things they’ve gone through, like coming out to their parents or transitioning to another gender.
“With every day, every gig, every DM, it’s become less and less about me and more about this whole collective of people coming together to fight for what we believe in.”

To coincide with the release of his new EP, YUNGBLUD is also NME’s latest ‘big read’ cover star. In the interview, which you can read in full here, the artist talks about his fans, being unapologetically himself, and being a rockstar.
“I wanna be the rock star for the 2020 generation. People always advise me: don’t say that you want to be something, just in case you don’t turn out to be it. But I’m not afraid to say that I wanna be the rock kid for them. I hate it when people say: ‘rock isn’t cool’. Rock is so fucking cool. Pouring your heart out is cool.”
