Earlier this week, K.C. Undercover’s and The Greatest Showman’s Zendaya returned to her home in the bay area to visit Fruitvale Elementary School in Oakland.
She posted consistently on her Instagram story throughout the day of the young students performing shows and participating in group activities.
I always say if I wasn’t in entertainment I’d be a teacher, like my mom.
I always say if I wasn't in entertainment I'd be a teacher, like my mom. She worked at Fruitvale for 20 years, so to come back with @Verizon Innovative Learning Labs and give these kids a hands on STEM experience was so freakin fun for me and them. #weneedmore pic.twitter.com/V5k0djfDqH

She visited the campus with a project from Verizon to encourage interests in STEM. The Oakland Unified School District posted a video shoutout from Zendaya to the young students:
It is incredibly inspiring to see stars like Zendaya give back to the community. The students were very thankful for her time.
