For his second solo single, Chris Bourne has put his own spin on an 80’s classic. The 23-year-old heartthrob has covered ‘She Drives Me Crazy’ by Fine Young Cannibals!
‘She Drives Me Crazy’ was originally released back in 1989. The extremely catchy tune soared to the top of the charts worldwide and it became a number one hit for Fine Young Cannibals in: America, Australia, Austria, Canada, New Zealand and Spain.
Now, Chris is introducing the anthem to a new generation of music lovers. It’s the perfect song choice. As well as giving Chris a chance to show off his incredible falsettos, the cover also keeps in with the retro vibes heard on his debut solo single ‘MFT80s.’
Teasing the release of his new single, Chris Bourne recently tweeted: “Some fire dropping 29/07/16. Old school throwback, shout out Fine Young Cannibals!!!!! Get stoked!”
‘She Drives Me Crazy’ will be available on iTunes tomorrow. The song itself may not be out yet but Chris couldn’t resist treating his fans to the music video a day early.
In the video, Chris and a mysterious woman rock out whilst they’re covered in UV paint. The striking visuals were directed by George Maguire and they really do complement the upbeat track. Does anyone else want to go to a UV party right now or is that just us?
To promote his new material, Chris will be touring around the UK later this year. The Essex-born singer will be embarking on The Funfair Tour this October and you can see where he’ll be heading here. He’ll be playing live shows in four different cities.
Make sure you also check out our exclusive interview with Chris Bourne here. We caught up with the former Hollywood Ending band member earlier this year to discuss: life as a solo artist, his career highlights so far, his plans for the future and much more.
