It has been confirmed that Take That will headline Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, which takes place on September 10 2017.

The ‘festival in a day’ sees Gary, Mark and Howard return to Hyde Park after a sold out performance there for British Summer Time last year. Their performance will take place a week after they also headline Fusion Festival in Liverpool’s Otterspool Promenade on September 3.

Take That will join a stellar line up of artists which were confirmed this morning, including Blondie, James Blunt, Emeli Sande, and Rick Astley. Also due to perform at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park are Stereophonics and Seth Lakeman & Wildwood Kin, in addition to special guest Shania Twain, who will be playing her first UK gig in 13 years.

Jeff Smith, Head of Music for Radio 2, said: “In this our 50th year we welcome an incredible line-up of world class artists and musicians who showcase the breadth of music played across BBC Radio 2. Listeners, viewers and the audience in the park will be treated to everything from rock and pop, to folk and country. Take That will be joined by two other acts also celebrating special anniversaries this year namely Stereophonics and Rick Astley plus we’re thrilled to be welcoming country music royalty, Shania Twain, for a rare UK appearance.”

Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow at 8am. Full information is available on the Radio 2 website. For those unable to attend, it has been revealed that the whole event will be broadcast live on Radio 2 and available on the Red Button/iPlayer.

Last year’s Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park saw the likes of Sir Elton John, Status Quo, Madness, LeAnn Rimes, Gregory Porter, Alfie Boe and Travis entertain the audience.
