The 1975’s new album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. The band’s second full length album was released on February 26th and sold 108,000 in the first week, with 98,000 being traditional album sales.
The 1975’s first album, The 1975, peaked at No. 28 back in 2013, making I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It not only the band’s first U.S. number one album but their first top ten. I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It has sold more in it’s first week then The 1975 did in 26 weeks.
The 1975’s sophomore album has produced four top 15 hits on the Hot Rock Songs chart. The lead single off the record, “Love Me”, reached No. 7, “Ugh!” at No. 10, “The Sound” at No. 14, and “Somebody Else” at No. 19.
The long wait for I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It was completely worth it. A No. 1 debut is an incredible achievement for The 1975 and we couldn’t be more excited.
