T in the Park has been a huge fixture in the summer music festival calendar but in 2017 fans will have to make new plans as organisers have confirmed that next years live music event has been cancelled.

The news has come as a big shock to fans of the Scottish festival as this will be the first time since its launch way back in 1994 that it will not be held annually.

DF Concerts who organise the music festival have spoke of its shock decision to cancel 2017’s T in the Park, saying: “We now need to take stock and take a year out to try to resolve the issues so that we can once again deliver the kind of camping festival you are used to and deserve.”

The festival which regularly attracts more than 200,000 revellers was hit with major problems back in 2015 after it was moved to Strathallan. The three day event was plagued by traffic problems, leading to organisers implementing a new transport plan for this summer’s event.

And last years T in the Park was hit with tragedy after two teenagers sadly died in separate incidents, and witnesses also reported fights and illicit drug use in the campsite area.

What do you think about organisers cancelling the 2017 T in the Park? Where you planning on going to the festival next year? Let us know your thoughts over on Twitter @CelebMix.
