Here at CelebMix, we review some of what we think are Michael’s best covers. Check them out below!
1. ‘Shape of You’ (Ed Sheeran)
Michael really made this song his own, making it one of our favourite covers of his! ‘Shape of You’ has been a smash hit worldwide since being released in January as one of the first singles off Ed Sheeran’s third studio album. The song reached number one on the singles charts of over 30 different countries.
2. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ (James Arthur)/’Sorry’ (Justin Bieber)
This cover provides the opportunity to hear Michael’s vocals, with both songs being extremely well suited. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ was released at the end of 2016 as the lead single from James Arthur’s second album. The single was at the top of the UK Singles Chart for three weeks and achieved further worldwide success. ‘Sorry’ is also an extremely popular song, off Justin Bieber’s fourth studio album ‘Purpose.’
3. ‘Mercy’ (Shawn Mendes)
‘Mercy’ is taken off Shawn Mendes’ second studio album, ‘Illimunate.’ It is a track that has broken records around the world. We love how Michael really made this song his own, and again, due to the nature of the track, it allows for Michael’s vocals to fully be on display.
4. ‘This Is What You Came For’ (Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna)
‘This Is What You Came For’ is a song release by Calvin Harris in April 2016. The song is an extremely different version to Michael’s cover – Michael strips it right back, completely revamping it!
5. ‘Let Me Love You’ featuring BNG (DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber)
‘Let Me Love You’ is an extremely popular track around the world, and here at CelebMix, we are obsessed with Michael’s cover of the song! BNG also featured on the cover, and the concept of the video worked well with the track.
