5 Seconds of Summer have released a new take on their most recent single ‘Easier’ with a live performance from The Vault.
The alternate version sees Luke, Ashton, Calum and Michael bring a strong and heavy force to the song, reminiscent of their earlier years as a band but with a more mature edge. Opposite to being stripped back, this rendition of ‘Easier’ is multidimensional; it retains the deep, dark and grungy aspects of the original track while simultaneously revitalising it, amplifying elements within the song to a whole new level.
5SOS already established a new era with the initial release of ‘Easier’ a couple of months ago, and the visuals accompanying the alternative version we’ve been gifted with follow a similar theme. The video is intimate, lively, and rough around the edges in the most perfect way. The entire aesthetic is a new direction for the band, yet it feels authentic and completely 5SOS.
