On Monday, Nickelodeon confirmed the title for their upcoming made-for-TV Hey Arnold! movie – Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie.
If you’ve never seen Hey Arnold! before, you missed out on one of the best cartoons of the 90s. But don’t worry, we’ll catch you up.
Arnold is a 9-year-old kid who lives with his insane, crazy, loving grandparents in an inner city boarding house. He’s got a football shaped head with a tiny hat that fits right between his hair, and he’s as sweet as can be. The show follows the adventures of him, his friends, and even a few of his enemies as they navigate their way through childhood.
The show does have one big secret, though – Arnold’s parents. We know that they aren’t in his life, and we know that he doesn’t know much about where they are, either, but from what his grandparents say, it’s clear they’re still alive. Throughout the show, there were plenty of times where the audience felt they were getting closer to solving the mystery, but in the end, we were left stumped.
Much of the original cast will be returning for the movie, with Helga, Phoebe, Harold, Rhonda, Olga, Grandpa and Grandma all being voiced by the original actors. Two new actors will be the voices of Gerald and Arnold, but their original actors will be returning to voice a few smaller roles in the film.
The movie premiers in 2017, and will pick up right where the TV series ended. And from the sounds of it, all our biggest questions will be answered. Where are Arnold’s parents? What happened to them? And most of all, what the heck is Arnold’s last name?
