Amongst the wins, she’s been nominated for an array of awards for the same character, including People’s Choice Awards, National Television Awards and Satellite Awards. It’s believed Anderson’s role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully initiated a phenomenon known as “The Scully Effect”. This is due to the increased amount of women pursuing a career in science, medicine and law enforcement, where her character was prominent in as a medical doctor and FBI Special Agent.
