Adele might be known for her slow love ballads, but now the singer says she has written an X-rated rap with even ruder lyrics than Nicki Minaj.
At a gig in Denmark, Adele was asked to perform Minaj’s hit ‘Monster’, which she famously did in James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke. Instead, she told the crowd: “I have a rap that I couldn’t possibly rap for you. It’s much dirtier than Nicki’s. It’s very sexual.”
Her Carpool Karaoke has received over 100 million hits on YouTube, one of which being Nicki Minaj herself. Minaj called Adele “mad ratchet” with “fingers and attitude to match”, sealing her approval of Adele’s rendition.
In the past, the 28-year-old has said that she is not that talented with her own raps, but her friend Tinie Tempah has revealed that he has heard her ‘spit her own bars.’ He and Labrinth were recording their hit ‘Earthquake’ when they heard her recording some “really filthy” rap verses. However, he also said: “She said if we ever play it to anyone she will sue us.”
Adele’s show in Denmark was extremely eventful: she revealed her secret raps, a fan ripped off his shirt and flirted with her on stage, and later an even more remarkable sight was seen.
A couple were invited to join her on stage after she spotted they were wearing quirky Tiger glasses at the Forum. Joining her on stage, Swedish fan Andre Soderberg promptly dropped to one knee and popped the question with a plastic ring to his partner Simon Carlsson – who excitedly said “yes”. Adele congratulated the couple on their engagement and even offered to be a surrogate mother for them if they ever decide to start a family.
Discussing his impromptu proposal on stage, Andre told Danish TV station TV2: “It came as a big surprise that we were up on stage. I made the decision on the spur of the moment – I felt the love! Everyone cheered, it was crazy. I have never heard so much noise!”
