What else should I know about Gianna Terzi?

Gianna Terzi (also known as Yianna Terzi) was born in the Greek city of Thessaloniki to a family of professional singers. Her father, Paschalis Terzis is a popular Greek singer whose career has spanned decades.

Gianna moved to Athens at the age of twenty to pursue a career in music. Six years after her move, the singer released her first studio album Gyrna to Kleidi (Turn The Key). The lead single from this album “Pou kai pou” (Every Now and Then) dominated the charts after its release. Gianna went on to sign a deal with Minos EMI before releasing her second album Ase me na taxidepso, alongside two singles in 2008.

After this, Gianna moved to the United States, working initially as a talent scout. She continuously worked hard on her own career and soon found herself sharing a studio with Grammy award-winning composers. She went on to release “Love Is Your Name” – her first single in English – which gained much recognition after its release.

In October of last year, Gianna was one of twenty acts shortlisted for Greece’s national selection show to find a representative for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest – Ellinikós Telikós. Five of the acts shortlisted were chosen to perform in the televised final, with one of them being Gianna. However, the final never took place, as two acts were disqualified from the competition for not having a Greek enough sounding song, and the others as their record labels refused to pay a fee to the Greek broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation. Therefore, Gianna automatically won the right to represent Greece at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. She will perform her song “Oniro Mou” in the first semi-final in Lisbon next month.
