Aleksander Walmann Åsgården (known as Aleksander Walmann) is a singer-songwriter from Norway. His career started in 2012 when he participated in The Voice – Norges beste stemme (Norway’s version of The Voice). He auditioned for the show singing ‘The A Team’ with all four judges turning for him. As well as this, he made it to the final. He finished in joint second place, with Martin Halla winning the competition.
In addition to this, Aleksander alongside Norwegian producer JOWST was confirmed to be participating in Melodi Grand Prix 2017. This is Norway’s national selection to find a representative for Eurovision. They won the competition after receiving maximum points from four of the eleven juries as well as winning the televote. They will, therefore, be representing Norway at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest next week in Kyiv, performing the song ‘Grab The Moment’.
