Cláudia Rafaela Teixeira Pascoal, better known professionally as just Cláudia Pascoal is a Portuguese singer who lives in Gondomar, Portugal. Cláudia’s passion for music started many years ago and at fifteen she learned to play the guitar.
Cláudia auditioned for Ídolos (The Portuguese version of American Idol) on two occasions as well as the first season of Factor X with little success. However, her fortune was soon about to change.
Last year, the singer auditioned for the fifth season of The Voice Portugal with the song “Dream a Little Dream of Me”. She impressed the coaches with three of them turning within the first twenty seconds of the performance and the fourth also turning before the end. She chose to join Aurea’s team and made it all the way through to the semi-final, finishing sixth overall in the competition.
Earlier this year, Cláudia participated in Portugal’s national selection to find a representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, (Festival da Canção). On the show, she performed the song “O Jardim” which translates as “The Garden” in English. She went on to win the contest and will be representing her country on home soil at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Cláudia will automatically qualify for the final, after Salvador Sobral’s win last year. You can watch the grand final on Saturday 12 May.
