Jacques started his music career in 2000 when he held his first solo concert. He entered Dora Pop Festival (Croatia’s national selection to choose a representative for Eurovision) with his first single ‘?arolija’ (Magic) in 2002. Jacques then went on to sign a record deal with Croatia Records. He has since went on to release fourteen albums with them.
In 2011 Jacques competed at the Open Mic UK contest held in London, coming fourth. He also entered The X Factor UK in 2011, and became known as the ‘Croatian Sensation’. He made it through to the top 100 contestants but was unable to continue in the competition as his visa was not sorted in time.
In February this year, Jacques was selected by the Croatian broadcaster HRT to represent Croatia at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. He will be heading off to Kyiv in May to perform the song ‘My Friend’.
