Lindita Halimi is a singer-songwriter born in Kosovo who has always had an interest in music and enrolled in a music school at the age of fourteen. In 2007, she appeared on the third season of Albanian Idol (Ethet) and reached the top ten. She then rose to fame after winning the sixth season of Top Fest in Albania in 2009. She performed the song ‘Ëndërroj’ (I Dream). As well as this, Lindita appeared on the final season of American Idol in 2016 after relocating to America.
She has since competed on two separate occasions to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest. On her first attempt, in 2014, she finished third. However, on her second attempt, last year, she won Festivali i Këngës singing ‘Bote’ and will, therefore, represent Albania at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. She will be heading to Kyiv in May to perform her song ‘World’.
