Mikolas Josef is a singer-songwriter and former model from the Czech Republic, who has had a passion for music since a young age. He has played the guitar from the age of five and graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art as a drama student.
At seventeen, Mikolas began modelling and participating in fashion shows for popular clothing brands. After giving modelling up, he went on to concentrate on his music, independently releasing his debut single “Hands Bloody” in 2015. His next single to be released, “Free” earned him a spot in the top twenty of the charts in the Czech Republic.
Mikolas almost appeared in last years Eurovision after being approached to represent his country with the song “My Turn”. He ultimately turned down the offer as he thought the song did not suit him. However, this was not the last time Eurovision would see the singer. Late last year, Mikolas entered the 2018 Czech national selection show with the fun, upbeat song “Lie to Me”. Mikolas went on to win the competition and will, therefore, be heading to Lisbon in May to perform at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
