Omar Kareem Naber is a singer-songwriter from Slovenia. His music career started back in 2004 when he entered Bitka talentov (the Slovenian version of Battle of the talents). He went on to win the competition and released his debut single ‘Vse kar si želiš’ (Anything You Want).
As well as this, Omar entered EMA 2005 (Slovenia’s national selection to choose a representative for Eurovision). He won the contest with his song ‘Stop’ and went on to represent his country at Eurovision that year, however, did not qualify for the final. His self titled debut album was released in 2005, with his second, Kareem, coming two years later.
Omar entered EMA a further three times over the years – in 2009, 2011 and 2014. However, he failed to win any of the contests. As well as this, in 2006 Omar entered Switzerland’s national selection for Eurovision with his song ‘Take Me Far’, again failing to win.
Earlier this year however, Omar once again entered EMA with the song ‘On My Way’ and went on to win the contest. He will therefore be representing Slovenia at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest later his month.
