Salvador Vilar Braamcamp Sobral was born in Lisbon and lived here throughout his childhood, as well as in Spain and The United States of America. He competed in the third season of Ídolos (Portugal’s version of Pop Idol) and finished seventh in the competition.
In 2016, Salvador released his debut single ‘Excuse Me’ taken from his debut album with the same name. The album reached number ten on the Portugese Album Chart. After this, he also released his second single ‘Nem Eu’.
Earlier this year, Salvador took part in Festival da Canção 2017 (Portugal’s national selection to find a representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest). He went on to win the contest with the song ‘Amar pelos dois’ and will be heading off to Kyiv in May to perform.
