After being discovered through his cover videos on Vine by Artist manager Andrew Gertler, Shawn signed with Island Records in January 2014 and later released his debut single “Life of the Party” in June. He became the youngest 15 year old to debut in the top 25 with a debut single on Billboard’s Hot 100, later moving up to the 24th spot. But prior to making music, he was a member of Magcon alongside other social media sensations.
Shawn later toured with Austin Mahone as a support act, and released his EP on July 28th that same year. His EP debuted at number five on the Billboard 200; selling 48,000 copies its first week of release. He later went on to win a Teen Choice Award for Webstar in the music category.
On April 14th, 2015 he released his debut album “Handwritten”, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
