Zara Larsson is Sweden’s latest export who has slowly crept her way up through international charts with singles ‘Lush Life’ and ‘Never Forget You’, the latter being a collaboration with British recording artist MNEK.
Larsson was once a finalist on the Swedish version of Britain’s Got Talent and later luckily received a major breakthrough when her debut album received major success in her native country.
Not only did her debut top the Swedish charts but so did the album’s first single, ‘Uncover’. The song also topped the charts in Norway and charted moderately in other European countries such as Denmark (#3), Spain (#29), France (#5), Lebanon (#12), etc! It ended going 6x platinum in Sweden denoting sales of 240,000!
She then successfully signed with Epic Records (U.S.) in a 3-year contract. Following this, her new single ‘Lush Life’ was released and has so far obliterated worldwide charts. It’s gone top 10 in over 15 countries and has made a slight dent in the U.S. charts where it has peaked at number 13 on the Billboard U.S. Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
Looking at live iTunes and Spotify numbers, the song is doing phenomenal even in the U.S. where it is placed in the Top 40!
‘Never Forget You’ has made a bigger splash in the U.K. as it’s been certified Gold for selling over 400,000 copies but ‘Lush Life’ seems to be going for the longevity factor. So it won’t be a huge shocker if Larsson ends up on a 2016 best selling list.
