AVIV is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist based in Toronto who captures the ghost of memory on her latest single “Jimmy’s House”. Produced by Robbie Lackritz, the new release is swimming with melancholy glow as AVIV plunges through her past.
“Jimmy’s House” features poignant strokes of bass, muted thunderclaps of percussion, and a rush of water vocal that cascades over a saccharine piano crescendo. The single was written about emotions in flux after moving apart from someone AVIV was close to. She croons, “Panic near the water, I can’t help it. I let these empty thoughts eat me alive. It’s everything I don’t believe in, I get lost in certain feelings while I’m waiting for your call.” AVIV seamlessly captures the visceral shockwaves of nostalgia that surface from the depths of missing someone on “Jimmy’s House” with her earth-deep roots in explorative lyricism.
AVIV’s music has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Young & Free, Bedroom Pop. Her subtle, sentimental lyrics have propelled her to the stage opening for Imagine Dragons on their recent arena tour and now embarking on a North American tour with joan. “Jimmy’s House” is her latest release with Photo Finish Records.
