Bebe Rexha has unveiled ‘I’m A Mess’, taken from her forthcoming debut album Expectations.
Co-written by Bebe, Jussi, and Justin Tranter, ‘I’m A Mess’ is a stunning offering which allows the multi-talented songstress to tap into her vulnerable side and self-reflect. Despite the song’s title, the track definitely has an uplifting feel to it thanks to the pre-chorus and infectious beat.
Everything’s gonna be alright
Everything’s gonna be okay
It’s gonna be a good, good, life
That’s what my therapist say
Bebe has also released a lyric video for the song, which you can check out below.
‘I’m A Mess’ follows on from ‘Ferrari’ and ‘2 Souls On Fire’ featuring Quavo and gives us an additional insight into what we can look forward to on Expectations, which is due for release on June 22. If these three tracks are anything to go by, then Bebe is without doubt in contention for one of the strongest album releases of the year.
Speaking about her debut album, Bebe told Schön!: “People can expect a lot of guitar sounds over 808 drums, mixing a lot of what I’ve done before with my influences also included – for me it’s a fresh sound. This album really shows the artist I truly am. I’ve taken all the things that have influenced my life, the artists that have inspired me musically and created an album that is honest and real.”
To coincide with the album release, Bebe has some incredible events lined up. Last night, she performed some of her new music for her hometown fans and also premiered her short film with Apple Music. Check out a clip of Bebe’s performance of ‘I’m A Mess’ here and check out the short film here.
On release day (June 22), Bebe will perform in Central Park for Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. This will be followed by appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Watch What Happens Live on June 25, and The Talk on June 28.
Whilst Bebe is gearing up towards the release of her debut album, she is still enjoying sensational success with her hit ‘Meant To Be’ featuring Florida Georgia Line. The track is currently spending its 28th consecutive week at number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Chart, making Bebe the longest running female to hold the top spot.
