The nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards are officially out – and with some big names in the music industry recognised across multiple categories, it is sure to be a night to remember.
Beyonce leads with a total of NINE nominations, with the superstar up for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best R&B Performance for her hit “Black Parade”.
Not far behind is Taylor Swift, with six nods, including in Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for her eighth studio album “Folklore”.
Tying her is Dua Lipa, who has also been recognised in the Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album categories for her critically-acclaimed effort “Future Nostalgia”.
Other musicians up for awards include Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Harry Styles, who all received at least two nominations.
BTS have also been nominated for their first ever Grammy award, with the K-pop boyband picking up a nod in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their US number one hit “Dynamite”.
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on 31 January 2021 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Trevor Noah. Performers have yet to be announced.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we can anticipate that the ceremony might be a little bit more different than usual in order to keep everyone safe.
