Big Brother 17 for UK Big Brother fans starts tonight at 9PM on Channel 5 and we are excited! We’re not only excited for the show to broadcast but we are extra excited that Big Brother 16 contestant Simon is here to keep you up to date with the latest Big Brother news. Let’s hear from the man himself:
I’m often asked about what it’s like in the tense build up to going into the Big Brother house. That’s what this year’s housemates will be going through right now, as they’re locked away in their secret hotel rooms, with not even their friends and family aware of the life changing event that’s set to happen. Of course, it all depends on the individual, but for me I can still remember it very clearly. Let me take you back to 12 months ago…
It’s my last 48 hours of freedom in the normal world before I go into the BB house. I’m like a jumpy rabbit and the adrenaline is pouring out of me like I’m at a nineties’ rave. I want to scream out to the world that I am about to go through the experience of a lifetime, then the thoughts come into my head about the house:
What will my fellow housemates be like?
Who will snore?
What if it’s me that snores?!
Will there be any talent in there?
How will I cope without my phone?
Have I brought enough clothes, and which bed will I sleep in?
OMG, I am totally going to be the snorer!
The anticipation is just too much. I feel like a five-year-old again at Christmas, waiting for Santa arrive. All I can do is wait for my moment of fate, after which life will never again be the same.
Let’s look into the mind of this year’s housemates – oh, I feel like Mystic Meg!
It’s now launch night of Big Brother, and I remember mine very well. I tried on my launch night suit 100 times, covered myself in about fifty layers of fake tan, and sprayed gallons of my favourite Dior aftershave. The constant knocks at my hotel door spin my head, I hear cars arriving, people coming in and coming out, the executive producers coming to have a final chat. I’m now asking myself will the crowd boo or cheer?
And then, bang! I’m blindfolded, thrown into a car before emerging into Emma Willis’s slender but warming arms for my final words to the world, before walking down the catwalk to a world that will never be the same again.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Big Brother 2016 is about to open its doors to us once again, and I for one can’t wait to fill you in on the latest gossip and inside scoop on the house.
