With the release of the BE Essential Edition fast approaching, Grammy-nominated powerhouse BTS have announced they will be gracing the legendary MTV Unplugged stage.

While BTS are known for their larger-than-life performances that blow the minds of those who watch them, MTV Unplugged will offer fans the rare opportunity to watch a stripped-back performance from the group back in their home city of Seoul, South Korea. Following on from their ARMYPEDIA and NPR Tiny Desk Concert performances, MTV Unplugged offers for the authentic and raw versions of your favourite tracks to be performed.

After member SUGA recently recovered from shoulder surgery, the special performance will be one of his first returns to performing with the remaining BTS boys. According to press releases, the septet is set to perform their hit singles and songs from their latest Billboard chart-topper BE. While little is known about their set thus far, performances of their Number One singles Dynamite and Life Goes On are expected to grace the special episode.

The performance comes ahead of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, where BTS made history as the first Korean pop group to be nominated at the prestigious show, as Dynamite is nominated for Best Pop Group/Duo Performance.

BTS has been breaking down barriers globally after their US television debut at the Billboard Music Awards, where they became the first Korean group to win a BBMA. Their career has only exploded since then as they have racked up American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and MTV Video Music Award wins. More recently, BTS became the first Korean artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the global smash hit Dynamite on September 1st. Two months later they secured their first-ever Korean language number one with Life Goes On.

MTV Unplugged Presents: BTS is set to air in America on February 23rd at 9pm ET exclusively on MTV, while also airing globally on the same day. Let us know what songs you hope BTS strip back for MTV Unplugged by tweeting the CelebMix account!
