In the midst of a sold out world tour and hot off the release of the record breaking Love Yourself: Answer, BigHit Entertainment have announced that all seven members of BTS have extended their contract with the company.
In an article published by NAVER, BigHit announced that BTS have extended the contract by seven years, with their current contract ending next year, ultimately leading their contract to expire in 2026.
BigHit Entertainment founder Bang Sihyuk stated that “It is our philosophy that we should cater the best to artists who’s achieving an unprecedented global success,” while BTS themselves expressed their love for the company and fans saying “With Big Hit Entertainment’s support, we’ll continue to strive to give our best for fans all around the world.”
The contract extension has sent joy to ARMYs all over the world but can come as no surprise due to the success of the group within South Korea and also globally. With two number on albums on the Billboard Top 200, entering the UK Official Albums Charts Top 20 twice while being the only artist in 18 years to sell 2 million albums in South Korea alone, their achievements are absolutely mind blowing for 2018 alone and show no signs of slowing down any time soon.
