Carrie Underwood is back, and she starts 2018 with quite the bang. She’s released a brand new single, titled “The Champion”, featuring rapper and actor, Ludacris – who is currently the presenter of Best Cover Ever. This is certainly a collaboration we never ever expected, even in our wildest of dreams; yet, here it is, and it’s surprisingly amazing.
The song was released with a lyric video that has been trending on YouTube since yesterday. It has previously been featured on NBC’s Super Bowl LII and XXIII Winter Olympic Games. It’s another inspiring track, one we will be playing on repeat when times seem to get a little on the hard side. It reminds us of Cassadee Pope’s “I Am Invincible”, Orianthi’s “Courage”, and 4th Impact’s “Unleash The Diva“.
The track was written by Carrie Underwood, Brett James, Chris DeStefano, and Chris Bridges. The lyric video was edited by Anna Gustafson. We really can’t get enough of this song, with Carrie Underwood and Ludacris being the perfect team.

It’s nice to see Ludacris add his stamp to this track. It’s definitely a collaboration we didn’t see coming or at all expect, yet that’s what makes it even more incredible. We’re going to call it, this has to become an international hit for Carrie Underwood; “The Champion” will go down in history as one of her best single releases, and will certainly become a classic.
