Here at CelebMix, we love introducing our readers to up and coming talent and new artists to listen to. We now introduce you to talented Irish singer and songwriter Catherine McGrath.
Catherine’s passion for the music industry began at a young age, when a family member taught her how to play the guitar, initially teaching her how to play and sing ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight.’ She grew up in a family that loved music, and right from a young age, she took up songwriting.
As well as sharing her own original music online, Catherine also covered tracks which were current at that time – inevitably the start of her making a name for herself in the music industry.
With inspiration from a range of country music artists such as Taylor Swift and Kelsea Ballerini, to name a few, her style of music can be described as a cross between a country and pop sound, a very unique and rare sound in today’s music industry.
The videos posted online attracted the attention of a music company, and after a short while, she was travelling to Nashville to write songs and to participate in studio sessions.
Back in 2016, she signed a deal with Warner Bros Records, closely followed by the release of her phenomenal debut EP ‘One’ in December of the same year, which featured four original tracks, including ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Say You Love Me.’
2017 was an incredibly successful year for Catherine and saw her fulfil multiple achievements. She had the opportunity to support several esteemed artists on their own headline tours, along with the release of several of her own singles, one of which being ‘Talk of This Town,’ a track telling the story of her rise to success, which was also reflected in the music video.
Her most recent single release was the track ‘Wild,’ along with a captivating music video, filmed in Nashville. You can watch the music video below:
This year has already seen Catherine achieve immense success. She has already embarked on a headline tour, performing at venues around the UK and Ireland.
More recently, she has announced her second headline tour of 2018, taking place in September of this year, coinciding with the release of her album. The tour dates are as follows:

Her debut album ‘Talk Of This Town’ is set to be released on 27 July and can be pre-ordered here.
