Having a small paw print and Puss in Boots inked just isn’t enough feline for singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
The ginger-haired man, famous for many songs such as “Thinking Out Loud”, posted an Instagram photo yesterday of his new tattoo; a huge lion on his chest, and it’s not even completed yet!
Ed captioned it “Halfway and ouch” and seemed to be smiling through the pain in the picture. Maybe the lion gave him a bit of bravery and strength?
“All this kerfuffle over a tattoo. If it was black and white saying a clever phrase in a language I can’t speak no one would’ve said anything,” Ed tweeted, directed towards the haters.
“It’s not the first weird tattoo I’ve got and it won’t be the last, but I’ve got and it won’t be the last, but I like all of them,” he stated in another tweet.
Perhaps getting ‘Hakuna Matata’ inked to compliment the lion would be another strange additon. It means no worries for the rest of your days, and all that, right, Ed?
“Originally I was going to get the floor plan [of the Wembley Stadium] tattooed on my side, but that seemed a bit ridiculous,” Ed said during an interview with the BBC.
Apparently Ed thought getting a massive lion on his chest was a lot less ludicrous than a stadium, which is pretty debatable.
In the end, tattoos are meant for uniqueness and embracing one’s self. So really, we can say all we want about Ed’s tattoos, but his opinion is the one that matters most. After all, it is his body, not ours.
The lion surely won’t change his beautiful singing and songwriting skills. If anything, Ed might start leaving a few buttons undone to show off the proud feline. No one would ever object to that though.
