Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino is taking another win this week. This time, this one is especially for the fans. After winning his first Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Redbone”, Childish Gambino is taking a step back to his roots. Just announced today, he’ll be releasing his 2011 mixtape and first EP, EP, tonight at midnight on major streaming services via Stem. This was previously available via free download.
This is just one of the very big news happening in Glover’s career. Just recently, he confirmed he will still be retiring “Childish Gambino” name at the Grammy’s and he had just signed a deal with RCA Records alongside his management/creative agency Wolf + Rothstein.
Glover’s Manager Wolf Taylor spoke to Billboard mentioning, “Artists should never be in the position where the industry hinders their creative output.” He continues, “Our goal is to give our artists the ability to release content when and where they want. Partnering with Stem has allowed us to maintain our major label resources while providing us with a platform to independently release our special projects.”
