It has been revealed that Ed Sheeran has purchased a £750,000 London pad for his parents.
In an interview with The Sun, Ed said: “I bought them a flat. They already have a house. I got them a flat and a car in London so they can stay there. It’s opposite me as well. My thing is, I bought a house about a mile away from them where we live in a countryside, and I bought a flat and a house pretty much opposite each other in London. So when I have kids, when they start getting a little bit irritating, I’ve got the grandparents there.”
Ed also said that he gifted his parents his Mini after he had passed his driving test in October. The 24 year old said: “I gave the Mini to my mum and dad. I bought the Mini, I learned in the Mini, I passed in the Mini then I got my parents a place in London and I thought instead of them having to drive their car up every time they’re in the country, they can have the Mini and just use that when they are there.”
Last week, Ed announced that he was taking a break from social media and that he will “see you all next autumn.” Ed made a post on Instagram with the caption “please read x” with a message that said: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the wold through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed. To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have mad thus far. See you all next album, and thank you for being amazing. Ed x”
