Ed Sheeran has made quite some headlines this week after a lawsuit was filed against him for allegedly stealing the chorus of hit single “Photograph”. It’s not all doom and gloom for Sheeran and his fans though, as a pig-shaped statue, hilariously named “Ed Sheer-Ham”, of the singer was revealed earlier this week – and for a great cause.
The statue is part of an art trail in Ipswich and is one of 40 statues that will be placed all over the town this summer for a Pigs Gone Wild trail, a “mass participation art event” that will be held from 27 June to 2 September. After that, the 40 pigs will be auctioned and the money raised will go to Ipswich’s St. Elizabeth Hospice.
Mister Sheeran himself is really excited to have a pig sculpture made in his honour.
I hope Ed Sheer-Ham will be a huge hit on the Pigs Gone Wild trail in Ipswich this summer. The artist, Martin J Wall, has done a great job – I think he looks awesome.
