Yesterday, Emma Blackery released ‘Don’t Come Home’, the third single from her brand new EP Magnetised, which is out now. The song is a polished version of a demo that she released on her YouTube channel last year with her friend Arthur Walwin. The lyric video for the track was posted on Emma’s VEVO channel yesterday.
The song takes a slightly different direction than the demo version. It leans more towards an emotional pop anthem with a chorus worthy of head-banging, compared to the demo’s acoustic-style piano ballad. The song features Emma singing about the pain of telling her partner “don’t come home”, and features heartbreaking lyrics such as “so tell me why you stay at all / you’d be better off alone”. Emma’s raw vocals and emotion shine in this track and set the tone for the rest of the EP.
In the lyric video, Emma looks fabulous in a marble crop top and a makeup look reminiscent of the Magnetised EP cover. The video also showcases Emma’s rather mesmerizing dancing skills, coupled with some special effects. Needless to say, this makes excellent material for some pretty cool stills, such as this one where Emma embraces her octopus alter-ego:

This video follows up the previously released music videos for the first two singles from the EP- ‘Nothing Without You‘ and ‘Magnetised‘. We can’t wait to see the visuals for the remaining songs on the EP!
On May 27th, Emma will set out on her UK headline tour for Magnetised, along with support acts Valeras and fellow YouTuber and musician Rusty Clanton. The tour will conclude with Emma’s largest headlining show to date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
Emma Blackery’s fifth EP, Magnetised, is available now on iTunes and Spotify. Look out for an EP review from us coming soon!
