Fast rising UK country music singer/songwriter Lisa Wright returns with her brand new EP ‘Mind Of Mine’. The record sees the Essex born star experimenting with new sounds as she cements her place in the ever growing genre of homegrown, British country.
The four-track record opens with hit breakout single ‘Tennessee’ which is a fantastic guitar heavy track that makes for a wonderful introduction to the EP. Wright’s vocals are clear and pure and she carries the country vibe over into folk territory with ease. It’s a standout song and one that has put Lisa on the map as a real star of the genre.
Up next is ‘Never Gonna Fall In Love’ which has shades of The Shires to it and is a really brilliant toe-tapping country-pop banger that will make her a whole load of new fans. This catchy track has to be chosen as the next single as radios across the globe will play it on rotation. It’s such a stellar song that really marks Lisa Wright out from the rest.
At number three is the EP’s title track ‘Mind Of Mine’. This has more of a ballad feel to it compared to previous tracks on the record and it shines a light on Lisa’s stunning vocal ability. It’s a whimsical number that takes you away as you close your eyes and let Wright’s clear voice wash over you. It’s clear to see why the EP was named after this genre bending track.
The ‘Mind Of Mine’ EP comes to a close with stunning ‘Giving Up The Ghost’ which is another slow ballad that showcases the immense country tones of Lisa and highlights why she is being named as one of the most exciting British country acts rising through the ranks at the moment. It’s a wonderful way to close out the record and it leaves you wanting more.
