Sam Way is best known for his international modelling campaigns but the handsome 29-year-old isn’t just a pretty face. The multi talented Brit is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and he has been flexing his music muscles with the release of his debut EP ‘Archetype’. The five-track record is out now and here we review the full EP for you.
The debut mini-album from Way opens with the official single ‘Share Your Stone’. The haunting track was a major success when it was released earlier this year and Sam’s vocals are strong and clear and the lyrical style showcases his immense talents. The catchy pop beat matched with warm lyrics make for a truly remarkable track.
‘Last Page’ opens with a stunning guitar riff before the calming tones of Sam Way fills the sonic space. The second song on the EP is possibly the best on the entire five-track record. It’s calming, and has some beautiful words mixed with a gorgeous musical arrangement.
The third song on ‘Archetype’ is the mesmerising ‘Half A Heart’. The lyrical story lends itself to the genre of country, while Sam’s vocals have a touch of folk tones to them, and the beat is pure pop making it a real mix of musical styles.
‘Emma’ is another standout on the mini-LP. It really showcases Way’s songwriting ability to the world. It’s clear from this track that the British singer has the ability to write tracks for any artist in the world.
The song ‘Home’ rounds out the ‘Archetype’ EP and the strong vocals from Sam make it a real standout track on the record. It’s a really beautiful song about always finding your way home with the one you love.
