    Walker McGuire are a fast rising country music duo consisting of Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire. The pair have been rapidly growing their fanbase around the world with brilliant live shows and now they are readying the release of their self-titled debut EP.

    The record will be released on the 12th of January via Warehouse Records and here we review the EP in full;

    The five-track collection opens with the catchy, old-school country song ‘Mysteries Of The World’. This is is a massive tune with a fantastic beat and classic storytelling lyrics that the genre is famous for. And Jordan and Johnny’s vocal harmonies are mightily impressive.

    Next up is the current single ‘Lost’. This has more stripped back verses but the chorus is insanely catchy and has a toe-tapping beat and radio friendly lyrics. There’s no surprise that this was chosen as the first single off the EP as it highlights everything that Walker McGuire are about.

    The third track on the self-titled EP is the slow-jam ‘Tomorrow’. This shows another side to the country duo.Thought provoking lyrics about the end of a relationship and a heavy guitar production combine to make it a real standout on the record and showcases the impressive talents the guys posses.

    At number 4 is the brilliant ‘Forever’. This is my personal favourite off the EP. The lyrics are fantastic and the classic country production make this a fantastic song that mixes old-school country with the more modern pop/country. Radio will love this song and so will fans.

    The EP closes with the super massive ‘Best Kinda Bad’. This track is a brilliant way to end the record and leaves you wanting more. The production has a cool pop edge while still keeping it close to the country ties. It’s a wonderful song that makes you wish this five track collection was a full LP.

    RATING: 4/5
