Belgium-based producer, DJ Licious, has just dropped his latest track, ‘Naked’.

The DJ chose to take a more pop direction with this tune and it has now been picked up by Polydor UK (Universal Music) – which is home to artists such as Jax Jones, Felix Jaehn, Zedd and many more DJs.

‘Naked’, is the follow-up track to his recent single, ‘I’ll Be Alright’ – which surpassed two million streams and was his second song released through Don Diablo’s HEXAGON imprint label.

The lover of house music has gone from strength-to-strength over the years, delivering official remixes for the likes of Lost Frequencies, Bob Sinclar, Kungs and many others.

He racked up a massive 18 million streams across all platforms and 2019 is set to be even bigger with his performance on the main stage at Tomorrowland this year, as well as hosting his own SHOMI stage on the second weekend, and playing at the HEXAGON stage too.

DJ Licious began his journey as an aspiring DJ with his own clubbing concept, SHOMI – which he later decided to expand in 2016, by setting up his own label in association with N.E.W.S.

The first release from SHOMI imprint was his own single, ‘Calling’, which grabbed the attention of renowned names in the music industry such as Oliver Heldens, Avicii, Sam Feldt and many more.

Not only did it attract A-list artists, BBC Radio 1 host, Pete Tong, premiered the track on his show and British singer-songwriter, Yolanda Quartey, jumped on the track, birthing 2017’s biggest dance anthem, ‘I Hear You Calling’.

Since then, he has been touring in his home country and across Europe religiously, running his famous ‘Defected in the House’ parties, throwing sets at clubs and is set to dominate every festival he attends this year.

DJ Licious lives and breathes good vibes, house music and hard work.

We got the chance to chat to him ahead of the release of, ‘Naked’!

Hey DJ Licious. For those who don’t know you yet, how would you describe yourself and your music?

When I was 15, I bought my first vinyl and playing music has been my passion ever since. After some time, I gradually started making my own tracks to fit my sound more and here we are… I am a fulltime producer/DJ now who just likes to play solid house tunes with a lot of vocals and only one mission in mind – putting a smile on people’s faces. Because for me music is all about house & happiness.

Your new song, ‘Naked’ is out this week! Tell us more about it!

I love to explore genres when I am producing and I went a little more poppy with this one. The reactions from my peers so far have been amazing! I can’t wait to share it with you, cause’ it shows, again, a slightly different musical side of me. The fact that it has been picked up by Polydor UK, home of artists I admire like Years & Years, Jax Jones, DJ Snake and many more is a big honour.

What’s is like releasing singles under Don Diablo’s HEXAGON imprint label?

Don is by far one of the most talented, biggest and still very humble artists in the game. Touring with him, releasing on his label is always a pleasure and I deeply respect what this man gives back to the new kids on the block and the industry in general. HEXAGON is a solid label and I am releasing new material in the future with them too. We are one big family.

How are you feeling about your performance at Tomorrowland’s main stage this year?

It’s unreal. I was a visitor at the very first TML edition ever, telling my friends I wanted to be up there someday. They laughed of course, but now I can wave to them in the crowd when I am up there ;-) I am also hosting my own SHOMI stage the 2nd weekend and playing HEXAGON as well. It’s going to be an epic Tomorrowland edition for me.

Can we expect to see you at any more festivals this year?

I am playing tons of festivals this summer in the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Germany & Belgium. It’s gonna be busy cause’ we are still adding a lot of dates as we speak… So, I am super hyped for this, cause’ I love nothing more than play & tour for the fans.

What are your main goals for 2019?

Keep making music and touring, it’s that simple. I’ve been on an amazing road so far, receiving a lot of love on everything I’ve put out the past few years so I am truly blessed and we’ll see where this exciting road takes me.
