Kelsy Karter speaks to CelebMix on her latest single, ‘Easy Tiger’ which features Hudson Thames.
We discovered Kelsy Karter earlier this year when she released her previous single, ‘Too Many Hearts To Break’. Since then, she has been in and out of the studio working on new music as her following continues to expand. With her unique soul sound, Kelsy Karter is guaranteed to make it big in the music industry!
Following Kelsy’s new single ‘Easy Tiger’, we spoke to her on the previous single and what to expect from her in the future in terms of music:
Q: How are you taking the success of your previous single, ‘Too Many Hearts To Break?’
Kelsy: Honestly I couldn’t be happier. I spent an entire year in the studio and it’s a cool feeling to know people appreciate the music, but in saying that, I’ll always want MORE. I get off on doing what people say I can’t do… I’m just here to make music, spread love and leave you a good story.
Q: How would you describe your style, music and fashion?
Kelsy: I’d describe my music as modern soul and my style as 60s British greaser youth.
Q: What can we expect from the new single, ‘Easy Tiger’?
Kelsy: Ohhhh! This is actually one of my favourite songs I’ve written. It’s a duet. And we had it tucked away until we found the right male feature. Then Hudson Thames came along and it was a wrap. This song is like a movie. And just wait ‘til you see the video….ooof!
Q: What do you hope for in the future in terms of your music and being an artist?
Kelsy: I want the world. I want to be like Bowie, Mick Jagger, Madonna…. make fucking history. Sooo… y’know…not too big of aspirations, haha!
Q: What would your dream collaboration be, whether it’s vocals or production?
Kelsy: Harry Styles or Mark Ronson!
Q: Your style seems pretty 60s, is there someone from the past who you’d love to bring back from the dead and collaborate with?
Kelsy: Sam Cooke or Elvis!
Kelsy Karter’s new single, ‘Easy Tiger’ is available now. Her debut EP titled, ‘Bad Girl, Sad Girl’ is expected to drop May 18th!
