Ryan Lawrie may not have made the final of X Factor last year, but that isn’t stopping the Scottish superstar from living the dream. Ryan is currently on his ‘Perfect Picture’ tour across the UK and is about to release his second single, also named ‘Perfect Picture’.
We caught up with the lovely Ryan to find out all the gossip ahead of tour and get the low down on his new single.
Hi Ryan, your second single is called Picture Perfect, and we’ve had a bit of a teaser of the song from your tour promo video. Can you tell us a little bit about this song?
It’s kinda like a story of a relationship about two people who have been together their whole life. It’s not necessarily about me, but it’s about that perfectly painted picture. It’s a lovely story.
When is the release date for the song?
The release date is August 24th and it’s available to pre-order now.
Will this be followed by an EP?
I’m really focused on writing right now. I’m hoping to put out another shortly after and hopefully build up to an EP soon.
What has the recording process been like for you?
It’s been incredible. I’ve been working with some amazing writers and producers recently and I’ve really been developing my writing recently. It has been a lot of fun. X Factor was a while ago and I’ve been working hard ever since.

Are you performing your own material on tour?
The set is half and half. So half of my original songs, and half are going to be covers of songs that people may not have heard before. I am doing the majority of the set acoustically. I’ve written most of the songs on my guitar so it only feels right to do it this way.
What are you most looking forward to on this tour?
Just getting to be out there. I can’t wait to perform the songs I’ve written and see the reaction from my fans. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone who’s supported me along the way too.
Are there any tour secrets that you can let us into?
My support acts are really cool. Both Single By Sunday and Robbie Coles are incredible. But the rest you’ll have to come along and see.
For anyone undecided on whether to go to catch you tour or not, tell us now why we should go?
I’ve been working really hard on this. It’s been a while since I have released something new. It will be amazing for people to come along to see what I have been working on, and be some of the first to hear my new music.
