Multi-platinum producer Jonas Blue recently captured the attention of millions again with a brand new single, “Perfect Melody,” in collaboration with Julian Perretta. The producer and songwriter is known for his iconic remixes and collaborations with popular artists such as Liam Payne, Rita Ora, and HRVY. “Perfect Melody” marks his latest release and follows successful singles, “Don’t Wake Me Up” and “Run Into Trouble,” which were also shared with listeners this year. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, Jonas Blue opens up about working with Julian Perretta for “Perfect Melody,” who he would like to work with next, and more.
What can you tell us about your new single “Perfect Melody” and the inspiration behind it?
It’s a summer anthem about a special relationship that you can never forget. It’s a song that makes you feel like you’re having a holiday romance!
What was it like to collaborate with Julian Perretta on this track? How did that all come together?
I really loved working with Julian. We met at a festival in France a few years back and had talked about doing something together, so when he sent me the rough demo of “Perfect Melody” a few months back, it was an easy decision for us to dive in and finish the record together.
Speaking of collaborations, who would you like to work with that you haven’t had the chance to yet?
Shawn Mendes is [at] the top of my list. His voice and songwriting is just on another level.
You’re performing at a ton of festivals this summer! What songs are you most excited to perform for your fans?
The new songs are always fun to play out live. [It’s] great to see the reaction and if people seem to love the songs. After spending so much time in the studio working on the tracks, it’s a really nice moment to finally play the finished versions to a crowd. Also, [I have] a special mash-up of “Perfect Melody” that I’m gonna be dropping.
Are they any festivals that you haven’t performed at yet but would love to in the future?
Yes, absolutely! Rock In Rio, Coachella and of course, Glastonbury!
How do you think the music you’re creating now compares to what you released at the start of your career?
I just try and create music I love and hope other people will love it too, I have the same sentiment and approach to the music [as I had at the start]. [It’s] uplifting positive music that hopefully connects with the youth.
Can fans expect to hear any new music from you before the summer ends?
I have a remix of a classic house record from the 90’s coming which I can’t wait for people to hear!
