Five Reasons Why Union J Are So Great

Here at CelebMix, we love a good boyband. Many have come and gone over the years and it feels like every year, the X Factor sparks a new obsession for us. Back in 2012, a boyband called Triple J appeared on our screens. Following the addition of George Shelley they became Union J, we fell in love with them and the rest is history.

Here’s five reasons why the Union J lads are so great.

    Their voices and music

Union J are fantastic vocalists. Individually they have brilliant voices but collectively they just sound divine. If you haven’t heard them live then try and catch them at a show, you will not regret it. Whilst they all sound great, Jaymi needs a special mention as he genuinely has one of the most incredible voices in this country. He sings so effortlessly, it’s unreal. Then again, Josh’s voice has a gorgeous quality to it, as does JJ and George’s. Basically we just adore their voices okay?!

As for their music, their two albums have delivered some big tunes. From Carry You to Tonight (We Live Forever), their music is fun and catchy, everything you want from a great boyband. You Got It All is one of the most goosebump inducing songs, especially when you hear it live! We also had the pleasure of hearing some new songs including their next offering Follow You at a recent An Audience With – the songs are trademark Union J style and are bound to be big hits.

They give back to the fans

Union J always do their best for their fans. Their current tour, An Audience With Union J, gives fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the boys. From meeting and greeting, a Q and A session and an intimate performance, the boys have a great time with the fans every night, even visiting some towns that bands normally forget about. They also do lots of tweet and follow sprees which shows that they truly love and appreciate all of their supporters.

    Their charity work

The Union J lads have always been great ambassadors of charity work, supporting various causes every year including Great Ormond Street, Children in Need and Save the Children. Recently, George, Jaymi and JJ trekked across the Great Wall of China, raising money for Coppafeel Breast Cancer. JJ and his partner Caterina Lopez have also started a project called We Are The Hambletts and as part of this they will be fundraising for mothers2mothers – there’s already a chance to enter a raffle to win two tickets to their London gig courtesy of the band!

    The relationship between the lads

These lads are basically like brothers. They’ve experienced good and bad times together and it’s made them stronger as a band. The banter between them is hilarious and they’re always sharing jokes on Twitter and Snapchat. They’ve also got the sweetest connection when performing – they are very supportive of each other and as JJ tweeted recently, they have a bond that will never be broken.

    They’re underrated

Union J are probably the most underrated boyband out there. They may not have racked up number one singles or countless awards but who cares? They are four genuinely talented lads with hearts of gold. They are so fan orientated and also full of fun, not forgetting being beautiful inside and out. They really deserve far more credit than what they get. You can tell that they’re having the time of their lives together and long may Union J continue!
