Five Songs To Remind You Of Summer Of ’16

The Song of the Summer is actually an award given to a song after it dominated the whole season.

In fact, just like in every single year, whenever you turned on the radio you could have caught the song of the summer. You just couldn’t escape from hearing it, but you didn’t mind it at all because the song really got something that made it so special that time of year.

Last year, probably OMI‘s “Cheerleader” song came as the Song of the Summer, as it was a tropical-infused love song that was just catchy, everyone was obsessed with it, and it was played everywhere.

But now that summer of 2016 came to an end, we have to crown the new song or rather the songs of the season that will surely remind you of everything that happened to you during your vacation.

Here are five songs that could claim the title from us.

 1. Shawn Mendes – Treat You Better

“Treat You Better” is the lead single from Shawn’s second studio album, featuring a tropical upbeat. This pining love song with a powerful chorus was a huge summer hit that certainly melted every teenage girl’s heart.

 2. David Guetta ft. Zara Larsson – This One’s For You

The 2016 European Championship was a huge event this summer. Even if you’re not a fan of football, you could enjoy supporting the national team in your country.  And you certainly won’t forget this song because it was played on every radio stations, even on television. David Guetta also opened the EUROS with Zara Larsson, and their song was the anthem.

 3. Olly Murs – You Don’t Know Love

This upbeat song was the lead single from Mr Murs’ forthcoming fifth studio album 24HRS, and it was an absolute banger with the bass and its catchy lyrics. “You Don’t Know Love” clearly has a message in it, and it’s undoubtedly from Olly’s heart.

 4. Major Lazer ft. Justin Bieber & MØ – Cold Water

Major Lazer have linked up with Justin Bieber for a huge, catchy song this summer. “Cold Water” is definitely the kind of jam that gives you feels, and you want it to play over and over again as it gets you onto the dance floor.

 5. Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna – This Is What You Came For

Calvin Harris and Rihanna have already proved with “We Found Love” that they are the perfect duo for a summer anthem, and the follow-up “This Is What You Came For” is no exception. We expected to hear the duo’s melodic new single loudly at so many places this summer, and we have become infected by the song, as the house beats with the vocals pulled us to the dancefloor. There’s no doubt – it can actually match the first collaboration of Calvin and RiRi.

That is all for now, but we always need your opinion. What was YOUR Song of the Summer?
