Swedish producers and DJs Galantis never stop hustling. Fresh on the heels of their latest collaborations with Yellow Claw on “We Can Get High” as well as with Valerie Broussard on “Roots”, the duo has just unveiled their latest new track.
The song is titled “Holy Water” and it follows the sonic footprint left by the predecessors. Long gone appear the days of layering highly-distorted vocals over hard dance beats. “Holy Water” greets us with the opposite: a light, dance beat mixed with clear, unpitched vocals. But don’t worry: once the hook enters with the words “I wanna drown in your holy water, a-amen”, an upbeat, bouncy drop follows that resembles the Galantis sound we fell in love with. The track is sweet, catchy and uplifting. It’s perfect for those last summer-y days.
Although no official explanation of the vocalist has been given, we assume that it long-time collaborator Cathy Dennis stood behind the microphone. Cathy has also provided vocals for the duo’s big breakthrough hit “Runaway” as well as for the track “Emoji“. The latter of which features unpitched vocals so you can hear the similarities for yourselves.
