Oh my Christ! A brand new trailer for the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special has been released and we’re fully ready to ‘Step Into Christmas’ with the Shipman and West families.
The trailer begins with an epic singalong featuring Smithy (James Corden) and Gavin (Mathew Horne) before Gav’s parents Pam and Mick (Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb) join in.
We are then treated to snippets of festivities (and drama) including celebrations down the pub, Pete and Dawn arguing and Uncle Bryn’s dramatic dinner preparations. As Pam says, “what a palaver!”
The one question on everyone’s lips however, is where are the kids? Nessa (Ruth Jones) and Smithy are of course parents to Neil the Baby whilst Gavin and Stacey (Joanna Page) were expecting their first child at the end of the series three finale. We do get a glimpse of a young boy running up to Pam during the trailer, but we’ll have to wait until Christmas Day to find out who it is!
Whilst sharing the trailer on his Twitter account, star and co-writer James Corden revealed that the special will be on BBC at 8:30pm on Christmas Day.
The trailer follows on from the BBC adding a sneak peek of the Christmas special to the end of the season finale on BBC iPlayer. A new picture of the gang has also been released.
We couldn’t be more excited for the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special and we’re counting down the days for what we hope will be another iconic Christmas special of one of the UK’s most loved sitcoms.
