We loved the original to this song when it was dropped, we’re actually big fans of Becky Hill and so when a cover version of one of her songs are dropped, we listen to it tentatively; it’s difficult to match Becky Hill’s awesomeness but Georgia Burgess & Danny Dearden have delivered an epic version of “Back & Forth” that brings a whole new side to the song. The release of this single follows up Georgia Burgess’ “Confessions” and Danny Dearden’s “What You Got Now” which was a collaboration with Stanton Warriors & Taiki Nulight.
Georgia Burgess is probably best known for appearing on the 15th season of The X Factor, where she made it through to Judges’ Houses. Since then, she’s released a few singles with her latest single “Confessions” being her most-streamed track to-date. Her vocals are stunning and she’s certainly a female singer to watch as she builds up her career.
As for Danny Dearden, he is a singer-songwriter, who was also a contestant on The X Factor, but he was on series 11; he also made it to the Judges’ Houses stage. Since then, he has been gigging, writing, and releasing. He has managed to take leaps in his music career, lately, as he managed to feature on Michael Calfan’s track “It’s Wrong“; it is currently his most streamed single, as it has amassed over 2 million streams on Spotify, with his feature on “One Love” by Diviners & ENV and his track “Take On The World” featuring The Holografik coming in second and third, respectively. He is currently in the studio writing with NXTGEN and will.i.am, and has also had a track signed to Perfect Havoc Records which is set to be released in May.
This single release is a cover version of the MK, Jonas Blue & Becky Hill track, titled “Back & Forth”, which was written by Marc Kinchen (MK), Mike Kintish, Rebecca Claire Hill (Becky Hill), and Guy Robin (Jonas Blue). It’s one of our favourite tracks from Becky Hill, and this cover version from Georgia Burgess & Danny Dearden is certainly on par with it.

Giving fired-up harmonies from the very start, Georgia Burgess and Danny Dearden are a vocal match made in heaven. They each manage to shine during their parts of the verses, but it’s when they go all out for the chorus where we hear them dominate. Both artists have managed to identify with the song and deliver the lyrics with the raw emotion found in Becky Hill;s vocals in the original. It’s a superb cover track and one that is certainly unforgettable.
Prior to the release of the single, Danny Dearden dropped a video of the two singer-songwriters in the studio recording the song together. It’s a strong performance visual that really showcases their stage presence and it’s undeniable that these two can blow audiences away with their vocal and performance ability.
