Grace Young-Christie is a 16 year old self taught singer-songwriter from the South Coast of England. Her debut single ‘Always Come Back Home’ was recently released, under the backing of KitSound. The audio tech retailer presented Grace with a unique opportunity which she couldn’t refuse!
Not content with just releasing her debut single, ‘Always Come Back Home’ has also been chosen as the soundtrack for KitSound’s upcoming advertising campaign! The pure, stripped back track showcases Grace’s haunting tones. It’s hard to believe that someone so young can deliver such mature vocals and lyrics, but Grace captures the emotion of the song perfectly.
The track was co-written by songwriter and vocalist Ilana Lorraine and Grammy nominated Ryan Shaw. Mo Pleasure (Roberta Flack, Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind and Fire) provides the keys, whilst Motti Cohen did the producing. The uplifting track is about the turbulence we all go through as we start to think about leaving home and what that could bring.
Speaking about how the opportunity came about, Grace said: “My Dad’s a musician and he works for KitSound. He asked me to sing a song for them, but when I recorded ‘Always Come Back Home’ I never thought that I would see it on iTunes!”
Justin Christie never thought that he would find a suitable vocalist so close to home, but ‘Always Come Back Home’ is so mesmerising, and conveys the company ethos.
“Here at KitSound, everything that we do is to bring people closer to their music, and after hearing Grace’s early demos we knew she was the perfect choice to be the soundtrack to our new ad campaign.”
Grace Young-Christie’s vocals will be heard throughout the UK from August, as the track will appear on TV and online campaigns, as well as in-store.
‘Always Come Back Home’ is available to download and stream now via the following sites: iTunes/Apple Music – Spotify – Deezer – Google Play – Tidal
