Halsey has unveiled the long awaited music video for ‘Strangers’ featuring Lauren Jauregui.
The track has been a fan favourite ever since her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom album was released last year, and the pair have performed the track together on a number of occasions. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is a concept album centred around a gender-swapped Romeo and Juliet, and the ‘Strangers’ visual is the concluding instalment of Halsey’s saga.
Serving as a prequel to Halsey’s previous videos, the ‘Strangers’ visual sees Halsey play Luna, who fights against Rosa (Lauren) in an intense boxing match. As they’re watched by their families, it’s clear to see that the pair have history together.
Luna reigns victorious, and at the end of the visual she meets Angelus, a member of Rosa’s family. Eagle eyed fans will remember his first appearance in the ‘Now Or Never’ video when him and Luna were torn apart.
Speaking about the video on Twitter, Halsey said: “The vid is a metaphor for a toxic relationship. You beat eachother down as u get weaker & more desperate ur shots get dirty & you fight cheap. You lose sight of what ur even fighting for. When someone finally wins, what have they really won? won a fight. lost the person you love.”

Halsey is currently in the middle of her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom world tour. She has just wrapped up the Latin American leg with support from Lauren, and will be travelling across North America with Jessie Reyez from June 24. The tour will also visit Asia and London.
