Finally! After a long and mind-boggling wait since J.K Rowlings tweet back in June where she tweeted CNBC back about Harry Potter and The Cursed Child the non-prequelly,prequel being an anti-prequel. Let’s get one thing cleared up right now. It’s not a prequel- it’s a sequel.

The last time we saw Harry,he was at Platform Nine and Three-Quaters saying goodbye to his two sons James Sirius and Albus Severus. From what we’ve gathered from the summary of the story. J.K Rowlings new play will be following Harry and his youngest son,Albus Severus.

The synopsis of the story is:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

J.K Rowling wrote ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’ with the help of Jack Thorne and it’s directed by John Tiffany. It will be in two parts, and the eighth book in the Harry Potter series yet the first ever to be performed on stage.

Jack Thorne, John Tiffany and J.K Rowling have said. ‘It is very exciting to explore Harry’s world in a brand new way through the live form of theatre. Collaborating on this story is exhilarating for all of us and we can’t wait to present the eighth story at the Palace Theatre next summer.’

J.K. Rowling then said:‘The story only exists because the right group of people came together with a brilliant idea about how to present Harry Potter on stage. I’m confident that when audiences see  Harry Potter and the Cursed Child they will understand why we chose to tell this story in this way.’

Me,along with many other Potter Heads are very excited by this news. A new Harry Potter story, who could complain? Alot of people actually. Just like J.K thought it was a good idea tell us the correct pronunciation of You-Know-Who’s name, which actually had a silent ‘T’ at the end of it,4 years after the movie was released. She also likes to keep us guessing about the play.

We seriously need to know more! Like who is the cursed child? Is it Albus or Harry?- though I think Harry’s a wee bit old to be a cursed child. Is there a new Dark Lord? Or has He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named managed to come back from that dreadful fall 19 years ago and what is his entry music? Is Albus finding it that hard to live up to his fathers legacy? I’m sure that Hermione could teach the lad a spell or two- Speaking about darling Hermione. Are any of the other cast coming back? Uncle Ron. Oh! What about Draco Malfoy? – Stop acting like muggles! We’ll find out soon enough.

The play of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child comes to London’s West End in the Summer of 2016. Tickets go on sale online at 11am GTM on Wednesday the 28th of October.
