French singer-songwriter Hyleen is back with an incredible new single.

‘Looking At’ is the first single taken from her second full-length record B-Side, and has also been given the music video treatment. The accompanying video features Hyleen in a number of situations – on occasions she is cast in a shadow, along with a variety of shapes and colours.

Directed by the singer and her brother Hadrien Besse, she explains: “This song is a silent dialogue between two people, a dialogue between their eyes – it is still more intense than any words can describe”.

If you aren’t already familiar with Hyleen, then we hope that she’s just won you over with her powerful and husky voice. The singer-songwriter from Cannes has the ability to captivate anyone with her unique fusion of soul, funk, neo-soul, pop and jazz.

Hyleen’s interest in music stems back to her early years. The self-taught musician played the guitar in her brother’s band before starting to write her own songs. She later studied musicology at University before broadening her horizons at the National Conservatory in Paris. After honing her skills as a vocalist, guitarist and singer-songwriter, she later set out to work on her solo project, debuting her music to enthusiastic crowds across France.

The songstress’ debut album, U & I, was released in 2014, which includes a superb line up of guests such as Omar, Frank McComb and Chris Dave (Adele, Erykah Badu) on drums. Hyleen later left France in order to share her music with the rest of the world. Along with her musicians Nicolas Viccaro on drums and Julien Boursin on keys and Moog-Bass, the artist has performed across a number of European countries, as well as Japan, India, and the USA. Hyleen has also supported artists such as Jarrod Lawson and Anthony David.

2017 sees Hyleen prepare to impress the world once more with her new body of music. Her second album B-Side has just been released in Japan, whilst an European release is penned in for the end of the year.

If ‘Looking At’ is anything to go by, we’re expecting big things from Hyleen. ‘Looking At’ is now available to download and stream.
